How to Join 
To determine if you are eligible for membership in Texas Employees Credit Union, please look at the following description of our field of membership. You are eligible:
- If you work for or are retired from one of our Select Employment Groups (SEGS).
- If you are a family member of a current member.
Please call the credit union to find out if your employer is one of our SEGS or to find out how your company can become a SEG.

Your money is safe at Texas Employees Credit Union
Recent news in the financial sector may have you wondering if your money is safe at Texas Employees Credit Union and we want you to know that the answer is YES.
Your accounts are safe and insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Your accounts are insured up to at least $250,000 through 2013 and IRA accounts are insured separately up to $250,000. NCUA Insurance for credit unions works exactly the same as FDIC insurance for banks. NCUA insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government.
Texas Employees Credit Union’s reserves and capital are well over regulatory limits. Deposit Insurance only comes into effect if an institution fails and its reserves are used. Our delinquencies and losses are far below industry norms because of our long history of loaning responsibly. Texas Employees Credit Union does not make mortgage loans so we have no sub prime loans.
